Hotsy Style Adapters Hotsy style adapters feature a unique nose protruding from the female thread, while the inner tube of the male houses the O-ring to allow for a positive seal.

Karcher Style Adapters Originally developed in Europe and now commonplace in North American markets, some pressure wash connections feature a metric thread. On industrial, gas-powered pressure washers, this thread is most often a Karcher thread. Karcher adapters have an M22 x 1.5 thread dimension and feature a 14 mm nose or tube bore.
