HOSE SELECTION GUIDE
Different technologies can achieve parallel results in manufacturing, often resulting in a confusing assortment of products to choose from. This can be true for material handling hose. The hoses listed in this catalog are constructed to give superior performance over general duty water hoses and fall under the three categories listed below.

RUBBER Material Handling Hose
Traditionally, heavy duty rubber hoses with natural gum rubber tubes were the ideal choice for extreme material handling applications. Today, rubber material handling hoses have evolved to include those with specially formulated synthetic tubes to maximize abrasion resistance. With such a wide array of options, often times the type of abrasion is the determining factor. As a broad rule, when small granular mate rial is moving through “scraping” the inner tube, often a hose with a synthetic tube, like G742 Groundhog Material Handling, is the best choice. For larger pieces of material that “bounce” along the inner tube, a natural gum rubber tube is often preferred. Realistically, Green Line understands the demands on a hydrovac truck change from job to job, and our range of options ensures that no matter what hose you choose, you’re covered for whatever challenges you may face. All rubber material handling hoses found in this catalog feature corrugated covers, double wire helix reinforcement, and tubes that are 3 ⁄ 16 ” thick or thicker. Thermoplastic hose is a more recent addition to the Material Handling lineup. Thermoplastic combines the advantages of rubber and PVC offering a lighter weight and more economic solution where extreme abrasion resistance against slurries or gravel isn't an issue. Often found on municipal vacuum trucks, Green Line offers our standard G1341C hose, which you will often find on municipal vacuum trucks where it is used to remove leaves and debris from plugged storm drains, as well as a high temperature version, which is commonly used for fly ash collection. Polyurethane is an amazingly durable material which remains flexible at low temperatures and combines the lightweight characteristics of PVC with the extreme abrasion resistance of urethane. Our G1741AMPH Amphibian Hose is designed for wet or dry service and can be used in a variety of applications including hydro excavation, slurry handling, fly ash collection, and industrial vacuuming. It has a superior bend radius when compared to traditional rubber hoses helping with in hand flexibility when manipulating the hose. No matter your choice, Remember…
On boom hose, there is a natural wear path that occurs where the hose bends as material goes from vertical to horizontal. Rotating your boom hose regularly will help maximize its service life.
