Short shanks provide economical hose connections for water discharge lines. In many applications they have been replaced by cam-lock style couplings, due to the positive sealing and ease of connection features that cam-locks provide. We are gradually phasing out the plated iron short shanks, but the ones shown here and other sizes are still available.

G34FV… CAST IRON FOOT VALVE & STRAINER Cast iron foot valves employ a leather flapper that prevents the pump from losing its prime. They are ideal where the pump must be left unattended for long periods. The weight of the iron ensures that the valve remains in the water.
