8600 SERIES CRIMP COUPLINGS

Interlock fittings are so-named because the wire reinforcement of the hose is mechanically locked between the ferrule and the insert. This is accomplished by skiving the cover and the end section of the tube, so that during the crimping process, the bare wire reinforcement is locked over a specially designed shoulder on the fitting. Interlock fittings are required for very high pressures and tough impulse applications. Interlock flange fittings are machined from bar stock and then bent and heat treated. Fittings made in this way are stronger than conventional brazed fittings assembled from component parts. Note: Special care must be taken when assembling these critical hoses. Always consult an up-to-date crimp chart to determine the correct ferrule, skive and crimp specifications for your hose assembly.
